Well, yesterday late afternoon Tucker and I were playing and it got a little bit rough, so we were stopped from playing and both went and laid down to rest.  When I, (Lance) went to get up, I didn't put any weight on my front right paw and then immediately laid down and rolled over on my back looking at Mom wit those sad eyes.

Hoping that the limp goes away and I will soon be able to do all the fun things again like walking, and playing.  It is getting pretty boring just laying around in the gated kitchen.  I called the vet and said to take 1 81 mg low dose baby aspirin or adult version, twice a day with food.  Really hoping its nothing major!!!   The vet said to call in 3-5 days if not getting better.

I hope that it gets better soon and when it does , hopefully Tucker and I dont play too rough to hurt my paw again.

Boys will be boys....now place nice, lol!!!

The actual baby asprin are not coated (if you haven't found anything else yet) They come in chewable form.  The ones I have are orange flavored.  Still you will probably have to wrap them in cheese because last I checked, dogs weren't too fond of the orange taste :)

Get better soon Lance.

There is nothing stuck in his paw, not sure what the diagnosis is yet, just trying to rest and see if it gets better and if not better in 3-5 days will go to the vet.

Took 1 low dose aspirin last night, this morning was still limping when out on a potty break, gave him another aspirin and rested all day in the gated kitchen and seems to be doing better now, bearing weight on his paw and walking on it, but favoring it a bit.

So what's the diagnosis? Ya got sumthin' stuck in your paw, or didja hurt yer shoulder?

Al exhibited a severe front leg limp on night 6 of a long backpacking trip in the middle of nowhere, shortly after stopping to make camp -- wouldn't put any weight on the leg at all -- mercifully, this disappeared within a couple hours. Maybe he just stiffened up after a long day, or got a charlie horse or a cramp. A mystery.

Feel better soon Lance! It's got to be a bummer wanting to play and you're stuck in the kitchen!

I've given Bruce those little 81mg aspirin when he's having a sore day. They are the low-dose aspirin that the folks at risk for heart attacks take daily. They are coated - I didn't know otherwise - but he must be able to absorb it because they do help him. Hope your paw feels better tomorrow, Lance!

Get well soon! (the baby aspirin should help.. just make sure not to use the coated tablets because dogs can't digest it)
