So a week ago, I was browsing the internet and found a holland lop that needed a new home; at a price that I couldn't refuse. I have always wanted a holland lop. This video started it all.
So I drove for an hour to the breeder's in hopes of bringing home the rabbit. I returned home with a rabbit AND a bunny. Yup...she had to show me the bunnies too. So let me introduce you to Ein and Brian's relatives.

Meet Penny. She is a 1 year old Holland Lop rabbit.

The breeder said that she was sweet and loves to run around. Well her love for running around was true! After holding her at the breeder's, I set her down on a table so I can try picking up another bunny. She decided to jump down from the table and run around in her backyard. It took us about 20 minutes to catch her...sucks because she was minutes late in picking up her kids from school. Woops.

So I think the chase should have been my first clue that she might not be right one for me. When I told the breeder that I am leaning towards the male bunny, she offered her for free since she wanted to clear out the cages for more show quality rabbits. I thought, "Eh, why not. She's free."

So I brought her home, and let her out of her box and she left a trail of poop all around our game room. Thank goodness rabbit poop is just small, solid pellets. When it was time for her to go back into her cage, she darted under my nightstand, ran in circles around the room. Since she had to choose the hard way, I had to use my laundry basket to catch her.

As for her sweetness, I find that a bit hard to believe. Unfortunately, she charges at Ein, Brian, and Sheldon. She even charged at me once, while I was just standing. Bf thinks that she's just not used to her new environment. I believe it's because of her unspayed status. I read that unaltered rabbits can get extremely territorial. So I don't know if I should spay her and keep my fingers crossed that she'll become friendly once her ovaries are removed or just find her a new home. But for now, I'm giving her time.

And meet Sheldon. He is 7 weeks old now:

Sheldon is no ordinary rabbit! Sheldon is a shoulder bunny. It's weird since I read an article on the internet that rabbits do not like to be up in high places. We hold him in our arms, then he quickly climbs up onto our shoulder and makes himself comfy there. Sheldon is super sweet. Unlike Penny, Sheldon does not tense up or shy away when we approach him. I saw him binky (rabbit version of frapping) in his cage. :) His left ear will become floppy when he gets older. I like to think of it as the reverse ear puberty, since corgis' ears stand up when they grow older...

I caught a video of Ein (and Brian of course) giving Penny a piece of his mind after she charged at him the first day we brought her home. Ein usually does not "talk" inside the house, unless he's gargling with Brian. In the video, it seems like Ein only "talked" after I asked him what he thought of Penny. So, please disregard my repeated questionings. And yes, bf and I named them after the characters in The Big Bang Theory.

My daughter has show rabbits, a Mini Lop & a Himalayan.....The Mini Lop is not easy for my daughter to pick up( she big) dont get why they call them mini lop when there not but when I get her out she is an angel but the sweet Himalayan that my daughter picks up from time to time will jump at me & my daughter...they did get attacked by some mean Dachshund attack them about 2 months ago and that is when the jump out and charges at us.....I think she is scared and that is a defense mechanism.... Neither one of the rabbits are spayed. I think with some time and holding and petting she should come around and stop the charging at you.

They are so cute! Unfortunately the doberman would make short work of a bunny at my house.

YES, SPAY THE RABBIT. It makes a huge difference, I decided to spay mine when it was 7months old and started peeing everywhere, including my bed. After spaying he was the mellow-est bunny :)

I trained mine to poop and pee in her litter box in the cage. Get her used to one first, then you can gradually introdce one in the game room so she wont leave *cough* little twinkles everywhere.

A corgi AND bunnies? I'm sensing a tear drop falling down the vaccum cleaner right now lol My bunny used to shed ALL YEAR. It was everywhere, inside my coffee, my nose, my eyes :S But they are adorable creatures, hope you're having fun with them!

That's Muffin, he couldn't wait for me to open the new bag of hay and decided to help himself :)

Muffin and my friend's rabbit "chic". He looks really similar to Penny!
