This past weekend was absolutely amazing for Ashton! On Friday night he took his Canine Good Citizen test and passed with flying colors! This was even more impressive since right before the test the Collie club had just finished their Speciality and there were still little bits of bait on the floor. Even with tasty little nuggets around the ring he stayed focused enough to pass. Adding to my stress was during the last minute or so of his 3 minutes of being left alone with a stranger some lost Japanese guys showed up and needed directions to another function going on at a different part of the fairgrounds! He is such a people-loving corgi I was afraid he would try to get up and go say hi to these guys! Luckily he didn't. Needless to say we are incredibly proud of him!
http://www.mycorgi.com/video/ashtons-cgc-testAshton and my husband John competed in their very first Rally Obedience Trial on Saturday. We had some tough competition since Team LaVerne was also in the same class! Both Team Ashton and Team LaVerne did great! Ashton qualified and took 3rd place while Team LaVerne qualified and took a well deserved 2nd. The funny thing was first place went to a 12 year old Cardi. So it was corgis in first through third! Woot go Corgis!!
http://www.mycorgi.com/video/team-ashton-rallyoOn Sunday the dogs weren't as focused but they still did really well. Team Ashton took second while Team LaVerne came in third. Both teams qualified and have only one more Leg to go before moving up a class to Rally Advanced A. The show was so much fun. Ashton did great, I got to meet Team LaVerne who I first met here on myCorgi and got to do some shopping at the vendors. :) Canine Good Citizen, Competition and Corgis, can't beat that for an amazing weekend.
Grats Ashton and LaVerne for a great weekend of Rally-O!! Go Corgis!!
