One of my goals for this year is to save up enough money to buy my long awaited first show dog. And it is going to take the whole year (maybe even a little longer) to save up enough money for that sucker! In the mean time, I think I have decided that I would like to try fostering, both to help out in rescue and to see how my life will function with 3 dogs (although I have a feeling the jump from 2 to 3 is easier than from 0 to 1, or even from 1 to 2). I found a little BHT Corgi male about 1.5 hours away from me. I emailed a Corgi rescue in my state and said that if they will take him on, I would be glad to foster him. I would rather foster an Aussie (sorry, they will always be my favorites), but there don't seem to be any identifiable Aussies in the shelters right now.. which is a good thing. So it's on to Corgis! I'll let everyone know how it goes and if I do end up fostering this guy.

Oh how great! I hope the rescue will let you do this! I lived too far away from one so I had to start my own BUT they were VERY helpful with any questions I had. This is a wonderful experience! We also don't have many corgis around here to rescue! If you have any ?'s just send me a message and I hope we can see pics soon!

I wouldn't mind fostering (don't tell my husband!!), but whenever I look on petfinder there are absolutely no Corgis anywhere near me. Which is good, I suppose! Let us know how it works out.

I think fostering is a wonderfull idea I tried to get into that with the local corgi chapter out here in the west it's called the west columbia gorge corgi something anyways I was shocked at the email I received back from them!
They stated that they didn't need anymore foster homes and that they had ten apps. per dog, the breed isn't that overbread out here and the owners are pretty loyal to them once in the home.
I thought wow thats great for the corgi's in the west and hope it stays that way forever!! so we contacted a breeder and brought Teagen home instead. good luck!!
