This post is a result of me lying in bed just thinking about what I have to do before we pick Zorro up, things to buy, and all the activities I want to do with him. So of course it was basically impossible to fall asleep. While I was trying to sleep I randomly said out loud to Joe, "I don't want him to be a beggar, so don't ever give him food at the table or while we're eating!" and Joe thought I was sleep talking because we hadn't been talking about the dog at all hahaha. What I'm really interested in this post is your feedback! The topic: Adventix. Since I worked at a vet it went without saying to have all your pets on Frontline or Adventix. Joe isn't so sure and says he heard it doesn't work. What is your opinion and personal experience with those types of products? I'm thinking I will probably do it just to be safe for the summer and fall. Ticks sure as hell are not going to be out and about during Wisconsin winters.

The breeder said he would take pictures Friday and send them to me, I still haven't received them! I don't think he properly understands how excited I am! Yesterday Joe and I went to Petco and purchased a leash, puppy collar, bone-shapped dog tag with Zorro's name on it as well as both of our cell phone numbers, and two cute ceramic bowls. Joe had previously purchased two small stainless steel dishes, but I've heard from numerous sources they like playing in their water and figured it would have been knocked over pretty quickly.

This summer there are so many things I want to do with our puppy! I am really concerned about him being socialized so I want to bring him everywhere it is allowed and safe. One of the activities will be Joe's races! He mountain bike races through WORS in WI and they are really fun events. There are hundreds of people of all ages and a few bring their dogs as well so I figured that's a great opportunity! Speaking of which, I'm supposed to be waking up in six hours to go to one of his races...I should probably get off of here! Thanks for all the feedback on my previous post, it was really encouraging and made me feel welcomed :)

Frontline and Advantix never worked for my dogs, but my area of Texas seems to have mutant flea infestations that are harder to kill than other places I've been :/ The only thing I've ever had any luck with is Comfortis/Trifexus.

When we heard that our Pippa was only 2 days away from coming home I think I went to Petsmart a dozen times! She ended up with 2 sets of food bowls and probably twice as many toys as a puppy could ever play with, lol.

Hi Ashley, read this old discussion, it'll help you to make better decision. The problem with topical is the person who applies it, very often they fail to read and follow the instruction, which render the application useless. If you have cats / other pets that may groom Zorro in the near future, forego topical completely.

Tick rx don't really work on adult ticks, learn to use a tick key, get in the habit of combing and checking after each outing.
