Okay folks here is the scoop: this morning (4/27/09) I showed up at my place of work in the industrial district of east Pasco and found what looked like a hurt and starving stray Corgi hanging around the parking lot. Hurt, yes, but not stray, she had been abandoned. I say abandoned because she had a clean coat and no flees. She was limping heavily on her front right leg which looked like it was broken so my wife and I decided we had to catch her and get her some help.
You would think that with all these damned animal activist groups running around it wouldn't be that hard to find a clinic or something that could take her in and fix her up and not have to worry about them putting her down. But no, every where we went they wanted to charge us out the nose just to look at her (its not even my dog!). We finally gave in and took her to the Pet Emergency Services office because they could work with us on payment. So $130 latter here is what we know: 1) Her leg does not, now, seem to be broken. Looks like the injury is old and somewhat healed. It does not seem to be causing her any pain and the Vet thinks the reason for the limp is because it healed wrong and the leg is not 100% functional. 2) She is very young, has not been fixed and has not had any pups. 3) She has a serious heart murmur that may end up shortening her life. 4) She has a slight cough and temp. 5) Vets are bastards.
Here's the bottom line folks: this is a really sweet dog that just needs a lot of love. She has not been aggressive towards my wife or I at all, not even towards our two cats, not even when they started eating her food. She is very quiet and loving and would make a great pet for someone who has the time and money to take care of her. If you think that is you please contact me by phone (378-0844) or e-mail (towlerack @yahoo.com), my name is Steve. All that we ask is some help with the vet consultation bill.
