Yup! I'm super excited~ He should be coming here later this week, provided that the weather is cool enough for him to fly over. :] He's actually 9 months already. But he was a show prospect before the breeder decided to rehome him (lucky me!) so he hasn't been taught anything. Haha. We'll have to start from the very beginning. The thing that I like about using the clicker is the concepts of "shaping" and "capturing", which now that I've watched so many clicker videos, I don't know how I should do it without a clicker! Unless of course, instead of using a "click" I just train a marker word to use instead... Is that by any chance how you guys do it?

Wow! Your just getting your boy :3? I'm sure your going to be drowned in a ball a fuzz for a couple of weeks till he settles in. Haha. Yea, Napolean has been taught without a clicker since he was a puppy so he couldn't care less how he got to that treat lol.

Oh I see. That's actually good to know! I've been watching lots of training videos on youtube, and everyone seems to be using clicker nowadays. So I was thinking about using clicker. But then I talked to the breeder, and she said it's better not to because it makes things more complicated. So I'm glad to see someone who has had great results training even without clicker! :] And thanks again! My boy's not coming home for a few days yet, and it'll probably take us a while to get to learning tricks, but when that time comes, I will be sure to come for help. Haha.

Well, it was really a long process with him XD and he's still learning it right now. Here's a video on what i basically did with him since it would take me forever to explain :P I hope it helps! If you have any other questions we will try to answer them fluently.

We use positive reinforcement with Napolean :) Haha, if you need any help on any tricks we'd be happy to give some advice! Thanks to everyone else for the comments :D
