Corn Cobs

Help can someone correct me here I gave Oscar a corn cob when he was a young dog I mentioned this to my vet she read me the riot act!!! It was a NO!! NO!!! I was informed that it could get lodged in the throat and cause other problems if not chewed and digested properly?? I give Oscar raw carrot and apple roughly chopped I was told the carrot was good for their teeth and eyes!.

What are your thoughts on this!.

Comment by Brian D Graham on March 2, 2013 at 2:40am: My Ex gave it to oscar when he was a very young doy I caught him eating it and took it off him much to Oscars disgust my Boys get the best food cost me a fortune but wouldn't have it any other way!. It worth it with all the layalty and love they give in return!. I saw a picture on my corgi .com of a corgi chewing on a corn cob I was rather alarmed!.

Comment by Melissa and Franklin! on March 1, 2013 at 10:45pm: Do not give corn cobs. They can cause obstructions like your vet said. Carrots and apples are ok, not really good for teeth or eyes per se but they are yummy healthy treats :-)
