Helloooooo corgi lovers. After six years of lusting after corgis, doing extensive research on corgi ownership, I'm finally... almost... there to full blown corgi-hood. Since I'm pregnant with the idea of being corgi'd -- I'm officially starting The Epic Search.

Anyone have any leads as to who tends to have the somewhat rare autosomal recessive fluffy in their litters? I realize that "fluffies" aren't breed standards -- but I don't care. Willing to go wherever the fluffies are. NEED FLUFFY CORGI LOVE!

I've visited two of Carrie Hale litters near Seattle, a each had about 1/4 fluffies I think.  It's a Mendelian recessive.

I wonder if fluffy heterozygotes (carriers) have somewhat plusher coats and are selected for -- this might explain the persistence if the allele.  It's supposedly not such a good outdoor coat-- more mud, wet, burrs, combing, shedding -- maybe so, but it doesn't look much unlike a border collie or shelty coat to me.

I wish you well on your quest! Biscuit is a mostly-fluffy (she's a patch of normal fur down her spine, the rest is lovely fluffy) corgi, she's the only one the breeder had had in a very long time.

Alas, I'm in Australia! Otherwise, you'd be more than welcome to come play with a fluffy while your search continues!

And hooray for corgi addiction - it's the very best kind! Can't wait to see the corgi you get to bring home with you.

Yes, Coventry has one. They are in Pomona. Call Becky at 909.568.4799. Please tell her I referred you.

I got my Corgi from the owner of this website: www.dogwoodcovecorgis.com. She doesn't have any right now but she will have some late summer/early fall. I got the best possible Corgi from her. My corgi LOVES kids! Is house trained. And is VERY mild tempered. Check it out!
