color change

Pudge's color is evolving. First it was just his drummies with the tan coming in, then his wings and now I see that he has new eye decals!! His color keeps changing! His drummies are getting darker.

I wonder when we will see his final look!

Pudge is 4.75 months old... and today we weighed him in at 23.5 pounds. :O He's HUGE. Our breeder said he will be a huge corgi full grown, estimating 30-35 pounds. He's really fit under the floof, not chubby at all. He's HUUUUUUUUUGE.

a name?

Agonizing over what to name my corgi. I've been thinking about this for years and I am no closer to a name now than I was 4 years ago!!

It has to begin with the letter P. Why? I have no idea. It just feels right. So far I have been toying with:

Pono - Hawaiian word for 'the right thing to do' or goodness, lots of personal meaning to it.
Peanut - the word that comes to mind when I see the little puppies
Paczki - (punch-key) a delicious…

hurray! puppies are here!!

I got a status report this morning! Geena delivered 8 puppies (7 boys, 1 girl) on March 10th at 4pm. So far, so good. The pups are showing good signs of health and nursing well.

Welcome to the world, little peanuts!

Geena had a c-section at her vet's office and she's is recovering splendidly post delivery. And I'm told she's taking to motherhood like a corgi to peanut butter.

corgi puppies ETA < 1 week!

After a few months of searching for the right breeder who was going to have a litter at the right time... I was referred to Molly Forbes of Keepsake Corgis. Let's just say I am one lucky corgi owner to be. Molly is great and super knowledgeable about all things corgis. I am so thankful to have her as my breeder!

Puppies are due at the end of this week. The litter will be all tricolors and at least some fluffies.

desperately seeking fluffy

Helloooooo corgi lovers. After six years of lusting after corgis, doing extensive research on corgi ownership, I'm finally... almost... there to full blown corgi-hood. Since I'm pregnant with the idea of being corgi'd -- I'm officially starting The Epic Search.

Anyone have any leads as to who tends to have the somewhat rare autosomal recessive fluffy in their litters? I realize that "fluffies" aren't breed standards -- but I don't care. Willing to go wherever the fluffies…
