Because I do. I love dogs, always have, but I have never come across such a happy and cheerful breed such as the Corgi. Most all vets/doctors/anyone who studies dogs will say that dogs aren't capable of smiling (or so I have read and heard; someone please correct me if I am wrong), but there is something about this breed that makes me feel otherwise. Maybe it's because I love my little (actually BIG) Maple so much and I am hopeful :).
For those of you who agree, please reply and let me know why you feel this way. I would love to know that I am not alone!
For those of you who do not agree, I'd like to know your scientific reasoning. This may give me a reality check lol
Thanks my fellow corgi lovers!

Both my Corgis smile, especially my female, Olivia. She has a lop-sided grin and is quite adorable, of course. My male, Tucker, also smiles, but he is mores serious than Olivia. He will smile when I get home from work after not seeing me for a long time. He also sings. He has a very nice voice! We have another dog, a Border Collie/Australian Shepherd who also smiles a lot.
I do believe dogs can smile and Corgi's do it naturally when they are excited or happy. Once had a mixed breed dog that smiled when she met me at the car after arriving back home--but it was more of a forced smile with squinted eyes and showing of teeth and wagging her little butt as hard as she could. It was quite a sight.
