It's been too long without batteries lol chicks are half grown, we have about 12 that like to come out of the pen to hunt the bugs, and Ein loves to walk along and surprise a unwary chicken butt'sniffffSQUAWK!!' i laugh and laugh ...well...we have chicks in the house, and Ein refused to look at them for a day...or walk past the tub they are in... heheh today, two days later, he has decided to sniff them and walk past them without the 'what did i do?' look, and we are taking it ..very.. slow. He is definately intrigued and scared a bit, i think the peeps hurt those ears...I'll keep posting udates as they grow. ^^ Carol

ugh. forgot to get batteries for the camera, i need to take pics of the chicks...Ein is having far too much fun, very little rushing at the chicks, he's getting the 'slow walk drive' down until one gets contrary and tries to flutter the wrong way, then he gets to run a little after the lil' clucker and bring her 'back around', i let 10 chicks out for an hour today. Ein finally got the idea to let them scratch and browse the grass ALONE finally, basically flicking his ears at me from the constant...sit... sit... get back... sit... Good Boy! lie down... stay... no, sit... stay...He went to his favorite cool spot and plunked down, pretty disgusted at me.... heheh I got a lot a weeding done then.. watching the chicks help me weed and the thrill of the chase when one caught a big bug and the races began! Ein, being decidedly uninterested at this point, just snoozed until i said..Time for the chicks to go back...Then he came, we worked at it for about 15 minutes...all the chicks in, and Ein's grinning like a fox, sooo happy to chase those fluttery lil' peeps. I will post pics very soon

chicks at three days...Ein is not so scared, and has been left alone with the chicks with no problems so far...

We had some in our house in March and KC was constantly standing up on the side of the tub trying to look at them. She would do that head tilt thing back and forth and just watch them. She does the same thing with my daughter's guinea pig and my son's rabbit. So far none of the dogs have tried to "get" them. I almost think she more wants to mother them then anything else, Levi and Taz are a little more interested in them making quick movements.
