Adora met one of her own kind for the first time yesterday at the dog park. I think i embarrassed my boyfriend a little. We were sitting on the bench at the park when I saw what looked like a sable Pem with a tail in the distance, being unsure as I see many corgi mixes, i got up and started walking over and in excitement hollered "Is that a Corgi" (dog was out still a ways out in the field and couldn't get a good look). I felt a little embraced after hollering, but when they hollered back in excitement to I didn't feel so silly lol. We were both so happy to see another corgi, as you never see them where I live. She was a beautiful red female with a gorgeous tail. We look forward to seeing them again in the future.

So yesterday me and Adora took the long drive to Calgary with my dad. After months of looking around for a corgi or shiba inu, pure or mix, things finally worked out. After arriving too late to adopt, having them adopted on him, and seeing some but just not having the right connection, he finally has "HIS" dog, and a great one at that.

His name Quincy and he is a shiba / Norrbottenspets mix and is 3 years old, he was originally in a rescue group foster home as a pup, was adopted out but when he grew up the family realized they started having allergies and they just kept getting worse over time, so he was brought back to the rescue group and has been in a foster home for some time. He needs some work on lead, as his is not great with introductions when on walks. He also needs some work on the "come" command. But besides that he is amazing, even my dad’s cat who doesn't like dog unless they are small, loves him, she actually follows him around. He is the perfect size for Adora, as his is bigger (she loves dogs bigger than her)

Since Adora and Quincy will share a yard and be visiting each other’s home many times a week, anyone have tips on or advice, of any sort i would love some impute. Thing to watch out for, tips on ways I can help with making him more comfortable.

My sister has also got a new puppy named Dex. He is a male 3 month old pocket beagle. Adora had a great time playing with him while we stopped for a break at her place on the way to Calgary since she lives smack dab in the middle of the trip.

On top of all that I got a email back that a male sable Pem is still available from a breeder, though I am concerned with my dad just getting Quincy and then having three dogs share the yard. I have really been wanting another corgi, companion for when the time comes when my boyfriend will not be home as often while I am at work, and I did want to get another while Adora is still young (she is 7 month) so that they grow up together and they will be close in age through their whole life. What do you guys think, is it too soon?

I go to the Laurier dog park park by the zoo as it is less than a 10min drive. We would love to meet up some time.

I think it really depends on you and the dog, whether or not it's too soon. If you have the time and commitment for it, and you think your ready, then your ready. It's probably different for each family.

What dog park do you visit? I also live in Edmonton, and Casey and I are regulars at several parks throughout the city. My work takes me out and about around the city, so if weather's permitting, Casey comes with me and we adventure to various parks or off-leash trails.
