I can't believe my baby is a year old (and thanks to Beni's mom for reminding me or I would have completely forgotten... Beni and Lyla are littermates for those of you that don't know)! She has come so far in the past 9 months I've had her, and I just can't imagine my life without my little LylaBug laying on the couch with me every night.

In other news the new puppy is still getting acclimated. Adding a new dog has just strengthened my belief that Lyla is "Queen Lyla" of the dogs in my house. She is a quiet leader, and fairly lenient, but cross her around food or her space on the couch and she'll rip your face off (not me of course, she knows better, just the other dogs... Sky gets corrected on the couch by Lyla all the time for edging onto "her" cushion). She seems to genuinely like the new puppy, but when he walked up to sniff her food bowl the yesterday, oh man, he got a lesson in messing with "Queen Lyla's" food! And Sky, of course, is going out of his way to be a big bully. I've been letting them work it out, but yesterday Brando decided he'd had enough of Sky's bravado and started going right back at him. So there have been a couple of times I've had to intervene because they've gotten kind of nasty. I just hope the two boys figure out who is in charge soon!!
