Does anyone in this community have any experience or advice about making home made dog food... you know with meat/rice and supplements. I'd love to be able to make something like that for the puppies now that they've got little teeth (and I fear mom is having a harder time keeping up with their voracious appetites).
I saw one recipe that used ground beef, white rice, and whole eggs (shell included for calcium) and vitamin supplements. I'd be more interested ones that included some greens/vegetables but have yet to find that type of recipe.

I would not prepare homemade food for young/growing puppies. Nutrition is sooooooooo important at this stage and if you leave out one little thing you can cause serious health problems later in life. I'd stick to a good brand of large breed puppy food and feed that to both puppies and mom until she is completely done nursing. When they are older then it would be something to consider, but at this young age I wouldn't risk their health. The only way I would do it is if a veterinary nutritionist gave me the recipe and not an internet website because there are waaaaay too many people on the internet who fancy themselves as experts in a field they truly know very little about and its hard to weed out the whackos from the ones who truly know their stuff.
Preparing your own food for your dogs can be a super rewarding thing, but it's also very easy to get it wrong. Do you mean you'd prefer a cooked version, or are you committed to going fully raw? In any case, I would start by reading up here: http://www.dogaware.com/diet/homemade.html# . There's a lot of literature out there on many different types of diets - and in puppies, if you go fully home made, it is crucial you get everything right as this is a very important time in their lives, "nutritionally speaking". :)
