We recently purchased a life jacket for Noodles because we went camping at Detroit Lake and will be going camping there on a more regular basis. Since he hates water, I wanted to make sure he was protected in case he went in and that he was protected when he went out on the boat. Here he is sporting his new life jacket and trying to figure out if he likes his new swimming pool or not.

It is so funny to see him standing there.  Enjoy your vacation and I hope you can post one of him swimming some where.  I think our boys are pretty much the same size.  both of mine think they are being starved.

Lois-

Noodles is down to 35.9 pounds and I'm so thrilled. I don't want him to drop much lower than that because even right now I get comments that he looks too skinny for a corgi (or if they don't know what kind of dog he is, I get told he is fat). He is rather tall, so being on the thinner side makes him look that much skinnier and taller. I think he is happy with where he is at, so that is what I'm aiming for. Noodles probably thinks we are starving him, but he looks good. Try and stay cool!

Randy has heat intolerance.  We have a little pool in the back yard and Reese, our newer girl will get in it but she is interested in laying out in the sun.  Randy on the other hands, hangs inside in the air conditioning.  I don't understand.  At one time, he got in and out of the shower with me so I don't think he really dislikes water??? Although, he will learn various things if bribed sufficiently.  I have to wash that pool out regularly so thus far, it is a pain!!  Noodles looks so cute in his life jacket.  How is the weight these days.  I think both of mine are OK but I can't get the low calorie food that I like right now.

Lois-

Noodles never sat down and I even gave him the "sit" command. He just turned his head the other direction, hopped out of the pool and sat in the grass. Silly boy! I'll keep working on the pool with him. He sat in the pool when it didn't have any water in it, but once the water arrived, he wasn't interested in it. Just like with everything else, patience and practice is the key. We are going camping on the 21st and as of right now, the weather looks to be gorgeous, so he should get to go on the boat and hopefully in the water.

Did he ever sit down or acted like he liked being in his pool?

Having a life jacket is really smart.  Our boys love the water and take out for deep water all the time.  I am constantly calling them back.  The jackets keep them from having to work 100% to stay afloat. Even if Noodles isn't a water lover you never know when he could fall off a dock, or be a crazy corgi and dive in....and think later.
