How Much Do You Feed a 6 Month Old Corgi?

Bartleby is getting bigger and longer, but sometimes I worry he is too "skinny". When he stretches out, I can see his ribs, and I'm worried that what I'm feeding him isn't adequate. I've been really focused on keeping him not obese and worried its a little too much in the other direction. I think he's going to probably be a pretty big corgi when full grown, based off his size now compared to adults I've seen and how big his dad was. How much did you feed or should you feed your corgi at 6 months?

I feed my little girl Zoey about 1/2 cup 3 times a day and she just turned 6 months. Once she turns 1 it'll be a tad bit over a 1/2 cup twice a day. :] I feed her blue buffalo puppy food and she loves it! once she's older she'll get the adult blue buffalo :]

I guess I'll just try to start feeding him twice a day and see if that helps.

My corgi loves ice cubes and baby carrots. They're low-cal (or no calorie) snacks that at least for me work for training.

I would not worry about a young puppy becoming obese, their metabolism is so high it would almost be impossible. If he looks thin I would just give him more food and not worry so much about the amount. It's hard to say exactly how much to give because it really depends on the dog. Henry got 1.5 cups at that age and we cut it down to 1 cup once he was a bit over a year old when he started looking chubby. Luke however turned 1 in June and still gets 2.25 cups a day and is quite slim.

At 6 months he needs food, how much and what are you feeding him. I feed my pups about 1/2 cup 3 times a day (TOTW), my adults get about 11/4th cups. He does not need to be heavy and will go through a slender stage, Sage at 18 months is still slender but I figure she will start filling out soon. Low protein also (24% or so for pups) as Corgis grow till they are about 2 (or fill out).

I've been thinking about asking the same question--only I think Griffin (7 1/2 months) may be too fat.  He weighs 24 lbs. already and I can't feel his ribs (he's squishy).  He gets 1/2 cup of dry food twice a day but with many treats because we're doing training.  I probably need to find some healthier treats.
