My 11 week old puppy Tucker I've only had for 13 days and I am really impressed with him. He knows sit, wait, down and "shake paw" command. He now understands that if he needs to relieve himself he just walks to the front door. He even picked up on that I wear the same sandals when we go outside; a few times he has carried them to me. We've been potty accident free for 4 days :) . Its great to see when your dog just connects the dots.

Comment by Justus and Gimli on July 19, 2012 at 11:42am Gimli gets really excited and sometimes when he doesn't think he's done whatever trick it is that you wanted, he'll cycle through any trick behavior he can think of to get the treat.

Comment by Trixy Fox on July 18, 2012 at 10:24pm Yeah my 11 week old puppy is dangerously smart too. He learns tricks really quickly and then tests the boundaries of that trick for days later. He learned sit on the second try, and then he proceed to test how long he had to sit before he got a treat. I had to teach him lay down immediately after so he wasn't anticipating sit.
Comment by Lois B. Allen on July 18, 2012 at 8:29pm It seems that most corgis are smart but they often choose what they will learn. My 20 month old boy is hyper active but quite intelligent so he has been hard to train He learns rapidly and uses it to anticipate and out smart you.
Comment by Ludi on July 18, 2012 at 7:53pm Brooke don't be disheartened. :) When I first got Ace, I thought he had a potato for a brain because of how slow he was... at EVERYTHING!
I'm glad Tuck is learning quickly for you, though, Seb! What a cheeky and bright lil fellow he's turning out to be!
Comment by Brooke Busteed on July 18, 2012 at 7:46pm Can we trade? I think my corgi is the exact opposite of smart :(
