I just saw the most heart tearing post on Craig's list!

FREE TO GOOD HOME!

Hi, My name is Joey and I am a four and half year old female, purebred, Pembroke Welsh Corgi with certified papers and a big heart...I have been living in the same house my entire life, but recently a newborn baby moved in and Im in need of a new home. My owners love me dearly but sometimes I get a little crazy around the baby and I think its time to settle down somewhere else where I can get a lot of love and attention. I dont get along with other animals and sometimes dont get along with small children but I am great around adults and kids that dont tug on my hair and ears. I would do best in a house with a yard, but I do just fine in small spaces too...I would make the perfect companion for someone in their later years or a great pal for someone/couple who needs a devoted and loving pet. I like to play and just lie around and watch tv with my owners. I am housebroken and do not have any destructive habits. I just need someone to love me and be my friend. If you could please be that someone email or call my uncle Josh at 970-313-7046. If I cant find a home soon, I'm afraid I'll be sent to live in the local pound, and I hear some dogs never get a second chance there. Please help me find a new home. Thank you.

Joey

I have posted this here so that anyone in the colorado area is looking for a corgi or knows someone who is, who apparently doesn't have any other animals can maybe save this poor baby from going to the pound!
I almost burst into tears when I read this.....

What really is hearbreaking that a lot of times the owners are ready to give up their dogs one a baby comes in. It's like giving up one of your children because they don't get along.

I used to take care of my grandson before they moved across the country and my corgis (not puppys) were great with him. They did not grow up around kids.It does not take that much to train them and have them be good with all family members. It is sad that so many people think pets are disposible!

I have to avoid craig's list as well most of the time, because I feel sorry for all those dogs and other animals who need new homes...Joey is in my prayers...I hope that I can try and help her!

Im thinking good thoughts that someone - maybe someone from this list will go get him - it is crazy how many people who have met Abraham just love him. This poor person must really be struggling. I am keeping my fingers crossed for him!

*sigh* I hate to judge, but I wonder if they tried using a trainer before ditching the dog?

This makes me very sad. I am 7 months pregnant with our first child and I don't know what I'd do if my dog wasn't good around my baby. I'm 99% thats not going to happen because my Leia is good with every person or animal that comes her way but you never know!

How heartbreaking! I have to stay away from Craigslist for the most part because if I see a Corgi or an Aussie I will email the person and say to let me know before they take the dog to the pound because I will take it. Also, on my area's Craislist there is a local shelter that posts and they have to euthanize their animals every Wednesday, so I don't even open their posts because I would adopt every single one! It's so hard to see those things!!!
