There's a lot of specifics in the article that don't make much sense to me as a layperson, but what I got out of it was that short legged dogs began occuring pretty early after the dog became a dog and not a wolf.

But....but... but.... I thought Corgis had short legs because the fairies liked them that way. :-(
Seriously, very cool! I knew that Corgis were genetic dwarfs, but I did not realize the gene for that went back so far; I thought (based on nothing, of course!) that it was a more recent selective trait.
