is This a Good Idea?
So the other day my mom and i were discussing setting up doggy play dates for Ace in the Area i know our local Petstore gets flyers hung up so me and my mom were discussin making up a flyer with my phone number on it for people in the area that have dogs that want buddies so where Ace can get more socialized. Its really depressing going to the dog park and no one being there for him to play with other then me. So i was wondering if making the flyers up and posting them around town if they were good ideas or not.. I really want him to have buddies to play with here in town so where he doesnt get so depressed. It will also socialize him so he doesnt have to growl at everything..
Also on a lighter note i wanna say my Little guy is the best guy in the world..
Last night i had had a really aweful day/night and got in a fight with my mom over something stupid.. ended up on the kitchen floor (my hiding spot for some reason when im upset) just crying my eyes out.. This isnt the first time i have curled up crying and had this happen
But Ace crawls into my lap and licks my face when im hurting like that and he just knows just what to do to make me feel better... Its strange to me because buffy didnt care like that she was concerned if you were on the ground but never concerned when you were crying... and when i stopped petting ace he walked over to my elbow and nudged it and crawled into my lap that way... he just knows how to make me feel better i pulled him into my lap and gave him a great big hug... It suprises me how much These guys can care so much for us... I just love him to pieces and would never trade him for the world!!!
He also doesnt like mom smacking me with things (out of fun not abuse She is an awesome lady =) trust me) lol Me and mom were in the livingroom and mom had this stuffed animal and was hitting me with it i of course was laughing and Ace got so mad he came in charged and barked at the toy as if telling the toy not to hit me XD he cracks me up so much! Mom thinks the reason he growls and barks so much around other dogs is because he is protecting me or something

the thing that sucks is I DO wanna do doggy meetups but the only place close enough for those is Portland and I currently have commuting issues =( it makes me sad since i have to rely on someone else for transportation... but i could see what i can do =) Oh and Ollie's mama~ that is a good idea using my Email! Though i will use my other email that i dont use for everything just incase =)
This small town has a dog park but NO ONE is ever there together so its nto really used )=
But thank you Everyone for your ideas =) Ill see what all i can do~

you could go to meetup.com and search your area for dog meetups (we have a big group here in San Diego), or start one up on your own. You can set up play dates and all sorts of things. People search by area of interest.
Your story about Ace comforting you made me cry a little. How sweet. I know just what you mean!

Hi there -- Ollie wanted to playw ith other corgi too so we made a group on this site and within a week or so, had more than a dozen members.. since the local group was created about a month ago, we've had 3 meetups! Perhaps you could try the same for your area?
Also, look up your regional corgi clubs & reach out to them :)

I would go to Petsmart but neither they nor a Petco are within an hour drive
I know our local petstore would be good and I would deffinatly drop one off at our Vets
and I understand what you are saying. I want to find someone who will help make ace feel more easy and not make matters worse~

Instead of flyers, maybe you could talk to the trainer at Petco or Petsmart. Maybe they could think of dogs they have worked with that might be a good fit. I'd just hate for you to expose yourself to anyone with less than excellent intentions. I guess your vet's office might be the one place a flyer might be okay. Good luck!
