I just noticed a penny sized lump on the right side of Jack's stomach. It's under the skin, and it seems like it hurts him when it's touched.

We're going to take him to the vet hopefully tomorrow and let them look at it.

Does anyone have any idea what this could be? My grandmother has jumped to conclusions already and is afraid it could be cancer. I just would like to put her at ease.

Thanks!

UPDATE!

Turns out Jack's sister must have grabbed him and pinched something while they were playing. He just has an imflammed lump that should just dissappear over time. :)

We're hoping it's just a fatty deposit, or a hernia. I don't think it's a bug bite, it's under the skin and doesn't pop out like a bite, and there's no irritation to the surrounding skin. It's a big knot.

Mister Jack has an appointment today with his vet, so hopefully we'll know something.

An insect bite may be? Hard to guess without a pic. Keep us updated!

If it is fixed relative to the abdominal wall it could be a hernia, a cyst or a tumor (benign or malignant). If it is attached to the skin it is more likely a cyst or tumor.
