Well the last 24 hours have been a roller coaster of super highs and super lows.
We'll start with the lows (because I want to end on the highs):
-Came home at lunch to pee in the pen, AGAIN. Same thing happened on Friday and I even made the pen smaller and Poppy still pee'd. I was so annoyed. And this has only happens in the morning too!
-When we got back from our late night walk, she drank a lot of water, slightly more then usual I noticed, but didn't think twice. Around 2am, I heard Poppy stand up on my bed, shake it out and lean over the edge like she wanted to jump off (and most likely find a patch to pee in my bedroom). She hasn't wanted to jump off my bed pretty much since the week I brought her home. Thankfully(?) I am a light sleeper and this woke me up and when I saw what was going on, I immediately got up, suited and leashed up for outside, and walked all the way downstairs to her patch of grass. Thankfully she pee'd quickly and then we immediately came back upstairs, which we never do (we usually go for at least a walk around the block). Came back and just crashed on the couch for the rest of the night and she hardly stirred after that. So thankfully that is all she needed, but hopefully this won't be a regular thing. I should have just let her out on my balcony to see if she would use the puppy potty, but I wasn't in the mood to be testing out new places to pee at that hour of the night, especially on a weekday.
Now the highs!
-When I left both times yesterday, Poppy barked for about 5 minutes and then stopped and since I wait for about 10, the last 5 were silent. YAY!!!!!!
-The iQ ball that Jen suggested arrived yesterday and it is AWESOME! Poppy spent like nearly an hour batting it around the living room while I ate dinner, she loved it!
-This morning when I left, I left the iQ ball, her kong and her bowl of food in the pen and while she didn't touch any of it while I was still getting ready in the apartment (she just looked at me from her bed), I didn't hear a peep once I locked up and waited outside for about 10 minutes! Of course, I am a bit worried about the iQ ball, but so far she isn't a super destructive dog and she didn't get it open last night and I twisted it pretty tight this morning. But typical me, I'll be somewhat worried until lunch and I can check on her.
Shy dog class starts tonight! Can't wait, keep you posted.
