No! It's not the sound of reindeer on my rooftop. It's the sound of the dog tags jingling as my dogs scratch, scratch and scratch some more!

I am so frustrated! I think there's a flea infestation at the barn from the barn cats. So I take the dogs to the barn, and even if they are on flea preventative they come home in fleas.

Last week, I gave them a flea bath and then treated them with Pro Meris. They stayed away from the barn for a week. They went out on Sunday and came home scratching. I found about 5 fleas a piece on each corgi! AAAGH!

(meanwhile the cat, who's on Advantage, is flea free and lovin life)

So my options are

1. don't go to the barn. Which I don't think I can do because I work 40 hours a week, excluding the commute and I ride 4 days a week.

2. treat the barn cats with advantage or something.( I will have to do it because the old cowboy barn manager doesn't like my new fangled ways).

3. put the corgis on Comfortis tablets along with the topical.

Any ideas on how to break the cycle would be appreciated!

Comment by Sam Tsang on September 27, 2010 at 11:35pm: If you have to bring the corgis to the barn, then monthly comfortis sounds like the best option. I don't think additional topical is necessary. If the corgis don't go to the barn that much, you can use capstar only on those days, however, it only kills adult fleas. You may also want to control your dog's bedding and your home.

Even if Tegan goes out into the tall grass, on the bridle paths, or where the barn cats hang out, she still doesn't have any of the little buggers on her when we come home.
