Just a recap on what's been happening with Murphy

We went to Wilkes-Barre for the 4th of July to hang out with our friend and his fiancee. Murphy was excellent the entire time in the car. I held him on my lap the entire way there which is always a chore, but he slept most of the time anyway. They have a swimming pool and Murphy has never been swimming before so we wanted to see how he'd react. We put him in it a few times and he hated it. He acted like he was afraid. So we'd be swimming and he'd be running around the pool while we'd splash him and try to get him wet until he hid behind our friend who didn't feel like swimming anymore either. We put him in it one last time on the steps in the water just to see what he would do and he started swimming really well until he went the wrong way and ran into the wall and started to sink so I ran over and saved him. He wasn't too happy. Our friend's fiancee's grandmother lives next to them and she has a corgi as well named Kix who's 4 years old. He's just too cute and I've never seen a full grown one in person before. Kix and Murphy played a little. It was really nice to see them interact with one another, I wish I had taken pictures. After seeing Kix though, I didn't think that I'd be able to hold Murphy on my lap anymore in the car once he got bigger, so on the way home he rode in the backseat and was very well behaved. He slept the entire way home. I think he was worn out because we spent most of the weekend outside. It was fun though and I'm pretty sure that he enjoyed himself too.

This past week, Chris had off for vacation so Murphy was spoiled by having us both around and going for car rides and to the park more often than usual. I don't know what he's going to do when it's time for me to go back to school in August. I hope he does alright. While he was off, we took our all weather blanket outside and watched lightning bugs fly around. Murphy loved them. He thought they were his new toys. I'd catch one for him and show it to him and he'd immediately try to eat it, I'd put it up as high as I could and let it fly away and he'd go running after it. He ran after so many and would jump as high as he could to catch them. He'd bark at them to get their attention. He killed and probably ate a few. I'd see the fluorescent green slime on his bottom lip. He's such a clown.

aww that's awesome :) ein tries to eat the june bugs. he plays with them until he kills them. lol. i think he forgets how heavy his paws are. yep, i doubt you'll be able to hold murphy on your lap when he gets older. ein's about 8 months old now and i haven't been able to hold him on my lap since he was about 5 or 6 months. they're just too long but ein insists on trying to curl up in my lap. half of his body is hanging off the side. lol. maybe you should try a doggie lifevest for swimming in the future. you should check out jackie and nutmeg's vids. nutmeg really seems to enjoy swimming with one on.

Sounds like Murphy had a great time!
Keep him away from fireflies, though. They are toxic to dogs and cats (and lizards and birds too)
