Kali went to her first Pet Expo today. Lots of people and lots of dogs. Saw one Pembroke and two Cardigans. She got a ton of attention and comments. Of course, the majority of people had no idea what kind of dog she was. I got is she a Heinz 57 dog, a blue heeler and a mix with a dalamation - guess the spots make people think Dalamation. I gently informed them she was a full bred Corgi. She had a great day and is now very exhausted and sleeping like a baby.

We went to a canine carnival yesterday and our merle Dewi got the same kinds of questions. Many people just commented about never seeing a Corgi with the merle markings before. I must have shared the difference between Pembrokes and Cardigans at least five times. :) That's okay though, the dogs love the attention. Kali is a lovely girl.

We get those" what kind of a dog is that?' question a lot too. I look at it as an opportunity to educate people. Since Cardigans are fairly rare, most people have never seen one. That's ok, people need to learn about this wonderful breed.

We can empathize with the "what kind of mix are they?" questions. Our cardis always get lots of attention when we go out & rarely does anyone have any idea what breed they are. Glad Kali had a great time!
