So, my work has gone to computerized scheduling, and when I print out my weekly schedule I see where things have gotten pretty busy with the dogs...and rightly so!
Tucker, my golden, has physical therapy one day a week. Finn, my corgi, has rally training on wednesday evenings followed by play time in the clubs fenced field. Saturday mornings are spent herding sheep, where Saturday afternoons are for learning to behave at the barn and around horses. Every morning, lunch break, and evening is spent either walking them along the trails around our house or playing fetch.
When you walk into the house, there are 2 large dog pillow beds in the living room, one bed in the loft/library, and another 2 beds in the master bedroom.
There are 6 sprinklers in storage for the various moods of the boys to play with during the warm weather months. There are 2 toy boxes, each full..... there are doggie blankets in fleece and nylon fill for layering in those cold winter months (Alaska does get really cold)... there are at least half a dozen leashes for various walks (reflector striped for night walks, flexi leashes for trail walks, narrow lightweight ones for herding, rally, etc).
My boys see the vet more reliably than we see our primary care doctors... and their food and vitamins are taken care of first. So what if I eat PB&J again? LOL
And now we are thinking of adding to the family in an off shoot way. We are searching for a well built, performance bred, red headed tri color bitch to be the future possible girlfriend to Finn. My dressage trainer actually wants her, but if she prefers a pup from Finn, then we will get the bitch back after the pups have been homed. So I am looking at a couple, searching for more to do a thorough comparison. Even if my trainer has her, she has agreed that I can train and show her! So more fun for me!!! I am looking forward to the challenge of another dog, as well as the joy that always comes with another corgi!
Life is good.
