so glad you brought home a new friend. Many vets and therapists say the sooner the better when bringing a new one home. They will never replace the one you lost but will definately help fill the void. I'm sorry for your loss, losing a dog is probably one of the worst things we have to go through. It's been almost a year since I lost my guy and I still miss him terribly. I don't think the pain will ever go away, but it sure does help to have another little clown to love.

As my daughter would say....we're sad that your Corky and our Truman and Bessie (who we lost in December) are gone, but now they're in doggie heaven where there is always someone to throw the ball and always someone to scratch their backs! (we like to think of my grandfather, who was a big dog lover, up in heaven playing with our doggies until we get there).
We thought we would wait for a while too, but I think that when you're a dog lover, you love dogs and want them around. We got our pups in February. Love is not a finite resource- it expands to encompass many people and furpeople! Congrats and love to your family and Tuffie.

All dogs, but especially Corgi's are kindred souls. We mourn with you in your loss of Corky, but agree that he is watching from heaven with approval of little Tuffie in your life! Hi paw and puppy kisses to all!

We understand how you feel. When we send Max to rainbow bridge I was devastated and couldn't think about losing a well loved corgi to get another. I felt so sad that I didn't think I could love again. We got Lando Oliver about 6 weeks after losing Max.

I got another immediately after losing Buffy unexpectedly several years ago and although I could never forget her having Izzy was a wonderful happening! So sorry for your loss and I am glad you found room in your heart for Tuffie.

So sorry to hear about Corky...loss is very hard. I used to wait a long time to get a dog when I lost one...but after loosing Bella I... I got Wynn (my 1st corgi) much sooner than I ever did before...it was the best decision I ever made(not to wait). Enjoy your new baby and Corky will be waiting for you...someday! Take care!
