It's breaking my heart, but the sibling rivalry between our year-and-a-half old Pembroke Corgi and six-year-old Australian Shepherd mutt have gotten to the insurmountable stage. We've gone through lots of training, behavior modification -- both the dog's and ours -- and other steps to try to resolve the issues, but instead of getting better they are getting worse.

Meanwhile Lucy is well trained, loveable, smart, and great dog. We just can't have the two dogs in the same room -- and sometimes it appears one is picking the fight, other times the other. We've worked with very good trainers, and they are to the stage that "we should be looking at other options."

She is a tri-colored registered Pembroke -- we have papers. The has more white on her body than most Corgis. She seems to be maintaining her weight well, and has no known health issues. At about 20 months, she's past the destructive puppy stage, but still a riot to be around.

We're in the west suburbs of Chicago.  Here's a video from last fall of the Lucy playing with other dog and our cat. There are more photos of her on my profile, and I'll post some more in next day or so. She hasn't grown much or put on much weight since then, so she's a small Corgi. You can contact me through here, and I'll follow up with phone, etc.

Have you contacted her breeder about the situation?  Sometimes the breeder will be willing to take the dog back and place it in another home.  Good luck!

It's tough to give up one of your pals but you're doing what's best for the dogs and "the pack."  Be patient, perhaps check with your local Corgi rescue group, they may have a waiting list, you never know, and the right home will come along for Lucy.  The nice thing is that Corgis are adaptable and in the right home, I would suppose as the only dog, she could blossom even more and have a super wonderful life.

Don't give up even if you have to post this a few times. It took me a couple times before Rainy got a wonderful forever home. Maybe post on a few groups also? Good luck!
