Moving, allergy shots, therapy dog tests......oh my!

Well, goodness, where shall I begin? There's so much going on right now! Daxter completed his first Therapy Dogs Inc. test last week and he passed with flying colors. Thank goodness the tester understood a corgi's need to bark every now and again (a couple of very hyper German Shepherds walked by and felt the need to alert Daxter of their presence, which he then replied that he was aware that they were there...haha.) Besides that little bit of barking, everything went as planned and we're on to round two.

Unfortunately, because of where I'm living (about 10 miles into the Rockies) my vet didn't want to treat the small amount of giardia that was in his system at the time of performing his fecal test. She said that it was pointless to treat it until we moved back to civilization (less wildlife), so our 2nd TDInc. test is going to have to wait until then. Lucky for me, we're moving next month! I'm so excited! This will be the first time in nearly 8 years that I've lived "in town". I'll be able to walk to the grocery store or ride my bike to work!!! Sooo happy! I've been spending nearly $40/week on gas for waaayyy to long, i'm gonna feel spoiled only filling up the tank 1-2 times a month!

Let's see....what else is going on??......OH! Daxter starts his immunotherapy (allergy shots) in a couple days! He's just started itching again, winter seemed a bit short this year. He already has a couple scabs on his shoulder from his constant scratching, but that's about it for now. Hopefully it will help come fall, when his allergies are at their worst.

Anywho, that's about all that's going on with us at the moment...so fascinating, I know!! lol. Hope everyone has a great day!!!

Murray had allergies last year starting the middle of August.  The vet put him on an antihistamine "Chlorpheniramine maleate 4mg."  He took 1 1/2 tablets twice a day (he weighs 33#) and it worked almost right away.  It's cheap and not a steroid.  It's available over the counter at Walgreens as Wal-finate" for about $5 for 50...it was about a dollar more at my vets.

Awesome!! Where are you guys moving to?

I'm up in Winter Park & hope to some day come down to "the city" & meet all the other Colorado corgis :)

Glad to hear that Daxter is doing so much better & that you found a therapy outlet for him
