My dogs do not enjoy Independance Day!

They are celebrating the holiday under the bed. Blaugh! It wouldn't be so bad if it were one night, but around here they won't run out of fireworks for weeks!

Jim and I took the kids over to the next town to watch fireworks, and Ella could have carried less. Most of the time she just watched people go by out the window. She loves riding in the car so much, that everything else was unimportant. On the way home Eric feel asleep in the back set, and Ella feel asleep on my lap, and it's only a 15 minute drive.

Mine especially Sparty hate the fireworks. We just put them in our Rv with the radio on loud and hope people don't get too carried away! I guess when your ears are that big it is extra loud!

Duncan and Chloe get anxious. They don't spasm out or anything, but become VERY velcro dogs. At the first sound, they run to my husband and I and lean real close to us. We don't make a fuss, just pat them real quick and go on with our conversation. Like we normally do when they come to us while we are sitting outside.

My guys did real good for their first 4th of July silliness. I hope we don't have any more fireworks till next year (they are also illegal here inside the city). The local police keep a good watch especially after the 4th and will fine those who don't obey the law (hooray). While the Corgis didn't panic, they were obviously getting nervous towards the end of the evening.

You know, that's the only good thing about the fact that we live in the middle of an area where they set fireworks off nearly half the year...

My dogs have gotten so ho-hum about them that they're all asleep under the table. Literally on their backs and snoring with their feet in the air. Heck, my horses just stand there and watch them. Hope your little guys feel better soon though; we had one dog years ago that was truly a nervous wreck with fireworks, and all we could do was put a blanket in the tub, let him crawl in it, and turn on the fan, the radio, and turn off the light. It was the only thing that helped. :/

Mine, either. Zoe is a nervous wreck right now. It's about 8:45 pm MST and getting pretty intense. This is the first year that she has been so sensitive. Ziggy (our 14 week old baby) could care less and is busy chewing a rawhide. Zoe will be okay in a bit. I try to be a good confident alpha dog, but I don't think that Zoe is getting any vibes from my example. Hopefully, they will be done soon. I can't imagine how hard it is for pups that have to be outside. :(

that happens in my neighbourhood too, even though it is illegal in the city limits to set them off (selling them however is not...) Last night had some huge ones, so Loki was howling.. Tonight will likely be worse, even though I live in Canada (figure that one out)
