Myles health hs been going downhill since labor day weekend. During the night on October 31, 2008 we awoke to Myles having convulsions. He was weak, disoriented, shaking, and not responsive. We gave him a baby aspirin, and the symptoms subsided, except he was still weak. We do not have Vet ER, so in the morning when the Vet's office opened, he was in there. He was diagnosed with having high numbers for the kidney failure, dehydration, and electrolite imbalance.

After an overnight stay at the vet with medicines, his numbers were near normal. He was sent home with medicine. We know it won't be too long before his time is over hear on earth and the angels come to take him. We will greatly miss our little gentileman Myles when the time comes. Until then, we are enjoying his company.

www.veterinarypartner.com is the web site, sorry for the mis-spelled one posted earlier this week. As you can see I was not in a clear mind. Once Myles is done with his cirrent medicine, we will have to get that test done. It will be about two more weeks.
And take a look at the additional photos I added today of the family.

What an improvement. Today Myles is smiling, barking and even running. He has turned around from the weekend. We hope it is a good sign. His sisters (Madison the Papillon, and Chloe the cat) sure like that he is playing again!

The Dr. indicated that it could be Addison's disease. His kidney's are not functioning very well. She also indicated that there is a very good web site for looking into diseases of pets. www.vetinarypartner.com. We are suffering from financial issues, as hubby has not worked steady for over a year. Many lay offs. the testing for Addison's disease is very expensive. (enough about out personal issues).

Right now the Vet said to give canned food or mix his dry with water. and make sure there is plenty of water available for him. And no people food. He is on a steroid medicine right now.

everyone, thanks for all of your support. I will keep eveyone informed of his progress. he has stabilized, and has not improved or gotten worse since his hospital discharge. He has another test on Monday.

You and Myles are in our prayers. It's never easy to walk our precious companions toward the Bridge. We're here for you.

Sidney's big brother Bruce is 14 and is in early Kidney failure. Did they give you a special diet to give Myles? I have a homemade recipe that is a good break if he gets bored with the vet's food. I'm very sorry to hear about Myles' condition. At least Bruce does not seem to be in any discomfort or pain.

What did the vet say? What was causing the kidneys to fail?
