Since Pooka has been re-allowed in the backyard, she'll stop all the time (in the middle of fetching) to eat grass and it upsets me, cuz... if it was the pesticide that caused the swelling, eating it is DEFINITELY worse than just sniffing it. But, she hasn't had a single reaction, so I guess the rain washed it all away into the soil, or the grass is just growing so fast, and its so tasty, she wants to eat it. (the only reason I've heard for eating grass is if they need to vomit? what are some other reasons?)

I noticed she had a small blade of grass (half the length of her eyeball) in/on her eye, and I was trying to get it (it would move with every blink), but suddenly it disappeared. I let it go, but later when we were inside, after I had brushed her and clipped her nails, it was still bugging me. So I laid her down and started moving her eyelids around.

Suddenly, I saw it; a flash of green deep in the corner of her eye.
I carefully dug it out.
She had been a good girl.
So I let her eat it.

yeah, my mom agreed that the vomitting was a myth because, since most dogs aren't used to grass, if they eat it, they'll sometimes vomit. But if they always eat grass, there's no problem. She said now she believes dogs are just lookin for something different (her diet is very protein/fat oriented cuz she's so skinny)

I heard that some dogs enjoy the taste of grass. Since spring has cause such an abundant green forest in the back yard (well in spots) I have caught Freya in the middle just eating. Then Cloud will come by and hike his leg and pee on an area near her and she'll get mad, barking and jumping at him while he does that. It's kind of cute. I've also caught her eating tons of sticks too.

Max used to eat grass, leaves, and sticks everytime he went outside. I don't know what it is. Now he has been pretty good and I guess he grew out of it. Ocassionally he trys to run in the house with a stick or big leaf in his mouth but we just corner him and take it or distract him with a small treat. Or tell him to "leave it" before he comes inside or else he stays outside.
