At the end of July we got a 9 month old redheaded tri from the same breeder as Owain. We're still integrating her into a routine; her name is Gemma.

Well last night I got an emergency email from the trainer I work with. There was a corgi up in the Santa Clarita area that needed rescuing. It was being staked out in the backyard and had already been saved once by a neighbor from a coyote (head already in mouth!). Fortunately enough neighbors had made the owner's life miserable with calling Animal Control several times, so they were willing to just give her up. So we got her. She's about a year old and very sweet. Now we're trying to quickly come up with a new name (she was called Ginger).

I've posted pictures of our little family. Thanks for the name suggestions. Yes, I'm old enough to know about Wiley Coyote. I always liked Warner Bros. better than Disney. Anyway, we decided to call our little rescue "Fiona". In a couple of the pictures Fiona is tethered to a coffee table next to me. Since she's not housebroken yet, she needs to be kept close.

I tried to see the former owner to get a release signed. Conveniently they were not home so I talked to the neighbor that was instrumental in the rescue. The poor animal would be staked out in the front yard all day without water. Other times in the unfinished backyard the water dish would be just outside the length of the tether. Evidently the kids aren't treated much better!

Thank goodness for paople who care!!!!!!! My 2 thoughts would be "Chance" as she now has a chance for a good life or "Wiley" as in the the cartoon Wiley Coyote(ok, so you need to be older to know this)...we have a Wiley(rescue) and we named her this because she would sit so proud, head up in the air and she just reminded us of this coyote. Good luck and let us know...I am sure she is very grateful to have a good, safe home!
