Hi Everyone,

I have been using Plaque Off by Triple Pet in order to keep my Mac's teeth clean. He has been fine with this product but I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any dangers in using products like this. The product gets mixed with his water. The ingredients are purified filtered water, yucca schidigera, mint oil, and sodium benzoate. Mac is 1 year and 2 months old so his teeth are nice and clean and I would like to keep them that way. He really does not like his teeth to be brushed so I am trying to come up with different alternatives to keep his teeth clean. I would gladly love to get everyone's opinion on this product and would be open to any suggestions as to what would be the best products to be using.

I currently am using the Plaque Off along with giving him Twistix Sticks, Bully Sticks, and any treats that state they will help to remove plaque buildup and clean the teeth.

Happy Holidays! :)

Thanks everyone for their suggestions. I am going to give him the beef marrow bones and knuckles but since this is something that I have never given him before and this idea is new to me, can anyone suggest where I can purchase the marrow bone and knuckes from? Can anyone suggest a safe and trustworthy website?

I haven't tried it myself but I know of other people who used the Plaque Off and liked it. I think they were also brushing their dogs teeth though. My two just get lots of different types of chews from bestbullysticks.com and their teeth are nice and white.

I have no experience using Plaque Off, but I get raw knuckle and beef marrow bones (8 of 1" bone for 6.49) and smoked knuckle bones (5.99-6.99) and beef knee bones (8.99/pack of 5).  Pazu (1 year old) and Lilo (7 years old) have pearly white teeth and no dental cleanings!

Those products generally don't work by themselves, you need to brush, add the water additives, and give dental chews. By themselves they are a waste of money. Best thing you can do is raw knuckle bones once a week. They work wonders on scraping off plaque and keeping the teeth clean and gums healthy. I don't brush Franklin's teeth, he's almost 3 and has bright pearly whites with NO plaque. You can also give dental diet dog food (which worked REALLY well on Franklin's teeth before I started giving him raw bones) or C.E.T. Dental chews which have enzymes that help break down plaque.
