This morning Sally collapsed after our walk and couldn't move. I carried her up the stairs to our apartment and she was still unresponsive, she couldn't move at all. As I raced her to the vet she began to jerk around uncontrollably and her eyes glassed over. She started to get a little better as the vet looked her over and was able to stand on her legs again by the time they were done examining her. The vet is going to keep her overnight and run bloodwork on her to try to find out a cause.
It was a very scary day, I was very glad to see her at least giving her sally kisses to the vet tech as I left. Of course now I'm home and it's hard to be home with her there at the vet.

Yes, the vet said the tests came back clear, thank goodness! Now if the weather would just stop storming she could relax. We are keeping our fingers and paws crossed for your Sally!!!

They're not sure that it is one, and I haven't been able to see my regular vet yet. The more I research it, the more I think that it probably is though. They just told me to keep her calm until next week when the regular vet sees her and lets us know what to do. The poor girl just wants to run around and play and doesn't understand why I won't let her! Is your sally ok now?

I feel for what your going thru, my Sally got sick just before our vacation this month. Hang in there!! Sally, Bo and I are sending positive thoughts your way! Did the vet suggest what different you should feed Sally for a liver shunt?

Ok, so the vet thinks that Sally might have a liver shunt. The vet I normally see is on vacation, so Sally and I need to wait until next week for him to get back and see her. She has really lost her energy after our trip to the vet today. I'm hoping that we can get her feeling her normal self again one day.

I'm so glad to hear that Sally's back home! I'm curious as to what things would cause her blood work results. I always worry about pesticide exposure. Perfect timing on you being on vacation too.

So this morning Sally is completely back to her normal self and begging to run about and play. I let her a little bit but I want to wait a day or so before I let her back to her corgi-self. The vet called this morning and says that the blood work showed a high level of a chemical that could indicate liver problems that would lead to a seizure. She wasn't sure though, if the results were from just the days stress so they want to run the tests again. I'm very thankful that I have these next few weeks off from work so that I have time to stay home with her until we figure this out. She is totally digging all of the extra attention she is getting (mind you she has already always gotten spoiled just a bit with attention). I'm hoping that we'll find out an answer to what happened soon.

I'm so glad she's home! Please let us know what the vet says.

Good news! The vet called and said I could take her home... she's doing a lot better already. Right now it's clear that she's just exhausted, but she ran right out to me at the vets with lots of kisses. I'm hopeful that we will find out what's wrong soon and be able to help her. Thank you to all of you who responded with your well wishes. They're going to call tomorrow when the blood work comes back. I thought maybe it could be heat stroke, but we were really only out for less than 10 minutes (although it is an extremely hot day), would heat stroke cause her to go into a fit after going limp? I've never had any experience with any of this. Sally is now resting up in the kitchen with lots of ice cube treats (her favorite thing). Thank you all again for your support, I know you must know how helpless it feels when our corgies are in trouble! I'll update again once the vet gets the results.

It is possible that she had a heat stroke? Get well soon Sally!
