Hi everybody I just wanted to share what happened yesterday so maybe it can be avoided in your household with your baby's.

Yesterday Jordan and Teagen were wrestling when Jordan's jaw got wrapped around in Teagen's collar it was very scary both dogs were whining and panicking trying to get apart it took both Greg and I holding them still to locate the quick release and seperate them. I'm am so thankfull that we were home when it happened or Jordan might have broken his jaw getting free. He seems fine a small cut to the inside of his lip and he ate a little gingerly last night. We are no longer going to keep collars on them in the house.

There are certain collars that you can get that unclip very easily when they are pulled on. I'm not sure what they are called but I'm sure you can google it and find them. I wouldn't suggest them for walking but they're good for just wearing around the house.

Thank you for sharing. How scary, and I'm so glad everyone is all right. You are correct that it can be dangerous. I don't leave collars on mine inside, and when we walk them if I know they will be off-leash playing with other dogs we only use the collars with the quick release. We have martingale collars for training and walking in areas like roadways where there is a risk of someone breaking a regular collar, but for dog-to-dog interactions or off-leash I always use the safety collars if a collar is needed.

My collars are attached to the appropriate leashes and we collar them on the way out the door.
