I agree, you are doing the best job you can, with said resources avble. I compare this to the research that shows the best place for children is in the middle of a car - yet I don't have enough middle seats. I place them in their proper car seats/boosters and seat according to weight. It's the best I can do. You are doing a great job!

My thought is that we always try to do the best we can to keep our dogs "safe" and just by crating them we are helping in the best way we can do to protect them. If they weren't in a crate they could fly around so my personal thought on this is .Hopefully we will never have an accident with our dogs but if such a terrible thing were to happen we can truelly say "we tried to keep them safe"! Not a lot of comfort if something were to happen but it's much better than leaving them loose in a car! I think it looks fine but for easier in/out you could get bungy(sp) cords!

oh and a side note the back seats have always been out because poor Shuffles arthritis when he was alive so I bought 4 inch foam padding and put it back there for him to lay on and be comforatable...and Cody likes it so there is a space between the crates and the back front seats for him.
