Yea! OMG your corgi is absolutely adorable. The housebreaking for Winston was easy, he learned in about 3 weeks. He was crate trained which made it easier. Socializing him was key I took him everywhere. They are sooo smart almost too smart in fact. We did an obiedence class and we loved it. I also started taking him on walks as soon as possible, we go everyday and he's not so hyper all day long.
The shedding is insane so I take him to the vet every six weeks for a Lo Shed Bath, it is amazing what a difference it makes. Good Luck and Congrats!

My goodness, do I love those pudgy puppy paws! He's perfect! Gorgeous markings and very sweet eyes. I hope you have lots of fun getting to know each other! Corgis are the greatest.... althought puppyhood can be trying at times. Remember to be patient with him this first year. Before you know it, he'll be a great dog. Sooo cute.

Enjoy now because they grow up so fast! Each stage is great in it's own way!

By the way, with just about every other command, you want to get in the habit of saying the command once and only once, but "come" is different for some reason, and my dogs respond better to the word repeated and sort of run together, in a bright, happy voice.

Yes, sit is easy to train when they are that young! Actually you can also do a sort of training where you just keep an eye on him and when you see his little butt going towards the ground to sit, say "Sit!" while he's doing it, then tell him what a good boy he is. He'll get the idea in a hurry. Many puppies also naturally sit whenever they get in front of you and want to look up at you, so you use this to your advantage.

The other easy one to train to a young puppy is "come." The huge majority of little puppies will run to you if you crouch down, clap your hands gently, and talk to them. So get down, clap your hands and call puppy's name (it also helps with teaching the name). Once puppy starts running towards you, say in a very cheerful, happy voice "Come come come come come!" the whole time puppy runs to you, then praise praise praise. When Jack was little I ALWAYS had a baggie full of tiny treats and bits of kibble in my pocket so I could reward often. If you do this with "come" consistently every day, your puppy will learn the command very well while he's still tiny.

I got both those tips from the breeder where my parents got their Chessie. :-)

He's adorable. Good luck!

OH MY ACHING HEART!!! Makes me want to run out and get another corgi!! Ditto to all the puppy suggestions already voiced. Here's another one: start Dremeling those little nails - keep 'em short - we all strive for those little stubby feet with short nails...

I think you got a cutie! Never had a puppy before. Every dog I ever owned I got as an adult dog. Best of luck!

Anastasia, so far everyone else has said it all! He's just sooooo cute. However, I won't tell you what I think you should know, but can you tell me what I want to know -- Does/Will Scoot do the Boot-Scootin' Boogie?
