Congrats, my advice is to enjoy every minute of the puppy stage, cuz by 5months you won't even recognize him!! You are in good hands by joining this site!!!!

Oh yes ...start with trimming nails NOW...at this age I use a people toe nail clipper and it works just great so by the time he gets bigger and needs them to be clipped he's used to this...I would do this every week or 2 just a little bit but consistently!

He is soooo adorable!! Congratulations!! The house-breaking was the hardest with Seanna...be sure to take him out immediately after waking and eating. The socialization is HUGE. Check with your vet to see when it's OK to let him around other dogs and people. We took Seanna to Petsmart, Petco, dog park, etc...and she is very well socialized. I also recommend a puppy class for basic obedience. It helps with socialization as well as listening to you! They also get them used to you checking ears, cleaning teeth, doing nails--which comes in handy when the teenage years hit. I'm not sure when the ears are supposed to stand up, but there are plenty of recommendations on here. Give him lots of love!! (Which doesn't look hard to do because he's so darn cute!!

FYI! Cindi is correct with the "sit" procedure! So please do it this way....when I got my first few corgis b/4 obedience this is what I did but and I had no problems but you should start things off the best way possible!

OMG!! The cuteness is absolutely overwhelming! Jane gave some good advice. Start him out right and he'll be a wonderful companion for years and years!
