Just sitting here thinking about how lucky I am to have great dogs and family (not necessarily in that order :) but will always remember 9/11 when the USA was attacked. I was sitting watching the Today show with Sparty on my lap as usual when it happened. My son came home from an early class and asked me why I was crying and I told him, " I think we have just been attacked". It was so sad to think about all the people and dogs just going about their ordinary day who lost their lives. It makes me think about the sadness in the world of people living with this fear daily but oddly still gives me hope when I think of all who rushed to aid the victims. Humans are quite a mix of good and bad and I know many after that day resolved to be part of the good! Corgi on!

I watched the documentary today. It was heartwarming. And it opened my eyes to how fortunate I was. They had search and rescue dogs, bomb dogs, the HR dogs (ones that pic up human remains) and then therapy dogs there ffor the firefighters and police

Bev, You are so right! I remember that day also as my husband and I were on vacation and I remember him coming to the lobby to tell me what had happened and how glued we were to the TV...not knowing what might also happen.

Last night on Animal Planet (I only caught the last few minutes) they must have had a show on dogs that lost their lives either that day or after and their owners life now. They had the people there and what I believe was they had a search/rescue dog, service dog and not sure what else. The people were also telling their stories.
