Well, after quite a bit of indecision, we have decided to have Morna sent via air, and we found that she could go into Charleston, which is only about 2 hours from home as opposed to the 4 hrs from here to Charlotte, NC. My whole experience with the breeder has been outstanding. It's a pleasure to have such a nice, informative person to work with on something as important as this.
She will be arriving next Thursday, and I'm going to be busy getting everything chewable put away, making sure nothing little is left lying around that could be harmful for her... in short, puppy-proofing the house. We are going to shop for her bed, dishes, toys, and so on, and stock up on good puppy food and treats, make an appointment with the vet for her second set of shots and just a general get-to-know you visit.
My daughter's dog, Bear, seems to know that we are bringing a usurper in because she will walk right up to where I'm sitting, then sit down with her back turned to me, even if it means that she's staring at a wall!! Dumb animals... I don't think so!!!!!!!
Tomorrow is shopping day and library day for puppy training (housebreaking, etc.) and "parent" training. It's been a long time since we had a puppy so I need a refresher course. I just can't wait to actually have her here.
