Sidney's FHO surgery went well and he came home this afternoon. He was so happy to see my daughter and me! He's in his crate now and is resting comfortably.

He gets anti-inflammatory medication and painkillers for 2 weeks, then he goes back to have his sutures removed. He's mobile now, though he's not wanting to bear any weight on the hip. They said this is normal and he might try to stand on that foot within a few days. We're keeping him in a doggie recovery condo until his 2 weeks of R&R are up.

Here's my baby when we picked him up...doesn't he look pathetic? This little leg looks like a chicken leg, all shaved like that. The silver over his sutures is liquid bandage.

And in his crate at home. We're hoping the Pro-collar will keep him from the incision, since it seems to be much more comfortable than the e-collar. He's got a great appetite, so giving him his meds is not a problem. True corgi spirit!

Aww, he looks so sad in the first picture. Here's hoping his recovery goes well!
