I was inspired by Liz and Tag's beach adventures, and so on a sunny Sunday afternoon I loaded the car up with three teenagers and a very excited Welsh Corgi. I know he was excited because the whirlwind of fur that formed inside my car when we put the windows down was much bigger than usual.

Liz gave me great directions and we found the parking area with no problem, only 30 minutes drive from home. Being a native Southern Californian, I'm used to the beaches being packed, but even on a gorgeous day like it was, we found few people there. My sister met us there with her 2 little girls and her big English Mastiff, Titan.

The tide was still high when we arrived. We didn't intend to get our feet wet, and when a particularly aggressive wave raced after us, I braced for icy coldness. Surprisingly, it was pleasant, and later in the afternoon we actually welcomed the water. Well, us humans anyway. Sidney does not care for the big noisy salty stuff. However, he did love running up and down the shore chasing the shorebirds. He was also curious about the tidepools.

Here are some pictures of Sidney's beach adventure:

Loved your beach photos...we moved from Titusville, FL to Indian Harbour Beach FL several months after we got Emma...our "new" home is only a block from the beach, so naturally we were anxious to introduce our Michigan raised Emma to the seashore...all went well until I ran into the water and Emma followed. We have strong undercurrents and it only takes a few waves to "sink" your feet into the sand. Well, my poor Emma "lost" her legs with the first wave...she looked down, pulled her feet out of the sand and got out of the water. She loves the beach...but you "ain't gonna" get Emma near the water again!!!

Great pictures! Thanks for sharing! I laughed at the "whirlwind of fur inside the car". How many times I have seen it in mine!
