This past Saturday, I made a trip to Madison, SD to look at Cricket, a rescue corgi. She was saved from a puppy mill at 4 years old. She sweet, loving, and a little shy. I took Riley and Brandon down to see her at a meet-and-greet at the Pamida. My first reaction of her was she was kind but timid. What surprised me was that after I got Riley out of the car, she came up to him first, instead of Riley making the first move. Riley was in full-on explore mode, and Cricket quietly came upt o greet up. If I made any quick movements she got a little scared. The foster mom told me that she has 4 other dogs at her house, and that Cricket had no problem playing and interacting with them and would even frap in the backyard.
So I sent an email back to the rescue center letting them know that I thought Riley's energy would be a constant bother to her, and that I didn't want that quality of life for her. But, if I had overassumed something, I was willing to make another trip down by myself to visit the foster home and see how she plays with the other dogs in the pack.
