Yesterday a friend called me to say a 1 year old Corgi was turned in at the shelter and there was no room in the adoption room so he would be left in a cage until his turn came up or he was pulled by a rescue within a few weeks. This is a kill shelter. The man that turned him in said he was a breeder. My friend told me the little boy was very timid but was not aggressive. My daughter was there when they opened and I paid the adoption fee. We will get him from the vet tomorrow,
His name is Rockefeller we are changing it to Rockapella so he can sing his freedom song along with our other fur babies.
I guess this breeder was only in it for the money and this one got to old to sell and was to timid to breed. We will work on the shyness and it will be ok if he stays timid as long as he is safe and happy. This is a picture of him at the shelter.

Congrats and "thank-you". Can't wait to hear and see more!
Thank you for saving him! His middle name can be Lucky :)
YOU ROCK!!!! Yesterday was this little guys lucky day! Bless you and your friend! Will you post more pictures of him? We can't wait to hear more!!!!
It's so good that there are people like you and your friend. I'd love to snatch up a gorgeous dog like this, but that wouldn't be fair in my current financial state. I'll have space for ALL the doggies :p
Yes his final name will depend on him. If he does not like the Rock part we will change it altogether. I can't wait to get that huge chain off and put a real collar on him. I hope he was not chained up on it.
I'm so happy for him to find a caring forever home! I know he will bring you much joy!
He is such a handsome guy! Bless you for getting him and giving him a forever home filled with love. I agree with Anna tho about changing his name. You don't know the association he has with it and what may have happened with him. Give him a new name that is entwined with love and fun and kindness.
And keep those pictures coming and updates on his progress.
Good for you and for him! As for the name, you might consider choosing one that does not sound at all like Rocky, since you have no way of knowing what kinds of associations he's made with that name or how he was treated. A totally new name can help you start on a fresh page. It will take just a few days to make the switch, call and reward with a treat, or petting, or a toy he likes and he'll learn his name and you are both good news.
Congratulations on the new addition! He looks like a really sweet fella!
Congrats!!! So glad he has a forever home with you and your family, how sweet!!! What a cutie!
