Hey Girls and Guys,

A few months ago I posted about my adopted Pembroke and her cat chasing problem. Thank you, thank you, thank you for all that replied!

With the suggestions you made I came to understand my girl a bit better. Her resource guarding has stopped completely around the cats, and only ever shows itself around my cousins huge 9 month old Goldendoodle (part golden retriever part standard poodle, who knew?)

Roslyn and I have been forming more and more of a relationship, and she follows my commands and recall wonderfully. I was visiting relatives in Northern Michigan this past weekend and we even had our first "off leash" adventure!

Roslyn finally starts the obedience classes we have been waiting for next week. I am confident she will do well after having practiced commands almost everyday at our local dog park, and on walks. Going to the parks this often has also helped calm her excitement over seeing other dogs. She is still aware and alert, but she doesn't go into blind excitement modes very often anymore and I can snap her out of them when they do hit her.

So I wanted to thank all of you, not only for advice, but for helping a new dog owner feel welcome enough to ask hard questions without making me feel like I am dumb for asking them. Thank you for providing your experience so i can better understand my 4 year old rescue. Thank you for helping me create a more balanced co-habitation between my instigator cat and my fearful rescue... turning Roslyn into the confident dog all corgis are meant to be!

Bev, My fiance and I are already talking about getting a second. Roslyn is such a social dog now, she just thrives when there is another dog to play and sleep with. Thank you for the compliment and the corgi adoption tip!

She is beautiful and it is wonderful that she has such a great home! There are two more corgis at the Capital Area Humane Soc. if you want another. You can never have too many! LOL, my husband keeps me in check!
