Vacation is over, but we're glad to have our little boy back

We went to Virginia Beach for the week and took Murphy to Chris's aunt and uncle's house. They have two dogs so I knew he would have a great time playing with them. We had a great time at the beach, but every time we saw someone with their dog, we'd always say, "Murph would really love it here." So, we decided that the next time he'll definitely be coming with us now that we know its a dog friendly beach. We missed him so much. We're glad to have him back. We called his aunt and uncle every evening to ask how he was and if he was being a good boy. Vacation went well. It was a nice change of scenery from the norm. I don't think we were gone long enough though. Even though we missed our little fur babies, I could have stayed just a few more days. Stella missed us too. When we got home, she was sprawled out on the floor waiting for some tummy loving. I love our animals. <3

I just looked that up and you're absolutely right. Not that I thought you were lying, but I wanted to see for myself. Its such a shame. :-\ Well, I'm glad we didn't have him down there then. I didn't know that. There were so many people with dogs I just thought that it was normal. Thanks for the info. I guess I'll be looking into where there are dog friendly beaches for our next family vacation.

WHOA. Wait a second. What beach in VA Beach is dog friendly? Because to my knowledge, not a single beach except Dam Neck Naval Base is dog friendly--and the base is only friendly because there are no lifeguards. It's illegal to walk your dogs on the boardwalk in the summer, that's how not friendly the city is to dog owners. I took Waffle down to the Oceanfront and was pretty much chased out of there. It's technically illegal to have them at Sandbridge between 10 and 6, but that's a less touristy beach and most people are accepting. But god forbid a police officer be down there... you'd get a ticket. :[

Sorry, I'm a local and I'm flabbergasted at how much my city hates dogs. Basically, the people you saw with dogs were breaking the law. Just a warning.
