So Watson is 6 months and still is lots of fun! He is a little too enthusiastic when greeting people but we are working on it. He is much better about seeing other dogs at least he doesn't always bark now. He had his first professional nail dremeling today and cried like a baby while gulping down treats.( I am a big chicken and have just been trimming the nails with clippers while showing him the dremel). He loves to lick everybody and doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body. It appears that he will be at least a 38 lb. corgi like his Dad. He gets along great with Izzy and has livened up our household quite a bit.

Cutie cute cute, and did I mention cute!

Funny about the dremel - it's the only thing I've ever used and get freaked out with the guillotine. Milo yelps too but we just move through it. He knows he gets a treat at the end so he hangs in there. I hope the dremel becomes your friend - it's the best way to trim nails, in my humble opinion...

Emily....we got Max as a rescue.  He is a big boned fluffy (Pem) but he weighed 54 lbs when we got him, he was described to me as a pot belly pig with a corgi head.  The vet is happy with him staying between 35-37 lbs.

Sounds like he will turn out to be a perfect doggy.

Glad to heard that their are other corgis who weigh that much! My Daisy is a chunker and weighed around 45 when we got her, but now she's down to around 35 or so. Perfectly healthy, may I add. :)

Susan,  I wanted to try dremmeling but chickened out and took him to Petsmart. I held the dremmel up to him while treating for a few times and touched it to his nail also while treating. I just don't have the nerve to do the nails myself so I have always taken Izzy to Petsmart and took Watson there too. My Sparty was a "nut case" about his nails so  I always had the vet do it. Izzy is very mild mannered and I suspect that Watson will be eventually also.

Glad to hear that Watson is doing so good! I'm curious about the nail dremmeling. Did you do it yourself or have help? I've had my dremmel out for 2 months thinking I would try to get Jeli used to it, but I finally gave up and put it away. I think I might need to have an army hold her down if I actually attempted to touch her toe with it!

Oh, that is too cute!   Glad to hear he is doing so well and has brought new liveliness to the household.

Now that is a huge Awwwww!  Max has a white streak that goes from his snout down the back of his head too. So glad that Izzy is liking Watson and they are getting along so well.

Looks like quite a "cuddle-bug" too:) Glad all is well. Izzy must be accepting a new pup quite well???
