I got a return call from a breeder yesterday afternoon saying she has a 10 month old male Pembroke available. We went to meet him today and ended up coming home with him. After a long search things went so fast with this pup! We knew it was right. He is so friendly and happy.

He had a big day today - his second car ride ever, a trip to petsmart, his first walk in the 'city' (really a town but after living on 5 acres..), a new home, new kitty friends and new parents. He took everything in his stride. He loves kids and other dogs - well he loves any attention he can get it seems.

While he acted happy and chill I know he must have been pretty nerved up because he pooped in petsmart (lovely) and threw up when he got home. He seems to be doing ok now though - he actually went outside the next time. He is still in tact and marking definitely seems to be an issue, He claimed quite a few spots in petsmart and most of my kitchen. He is so quick. He now knows I am not ok with it and has only been doing it when i turn around for a second. It was every 15 min or so and now it has been 4 hours so I am hoping he will be a quick learner but we shall see.

All in all it has been a great day. This dog is going to be so much fun. Even the cats are handling it way better than I thought. THey didn't hide and didn't freak out. Just laid on the other side of the baby gate and watched. My older cat actually came in the kitchen and watched from the top of the fridge for a while. There was some hissing but mostly curiosity.

Thanks for everyones help and advice in the preparation phase. I am sure this site will be a big help over the next few months while I am learning first-hand about this wonderful breed. I will post more pictures soon. :)

Oh and we are still working on a name - he doesn't answer to Henry and that is what they had been calling him so we are working on a new one.
